God allowed me to live three times.
The second time was in July, 2000. I’d been really sick for months and months and all I could eat was yogurt and fruit cocktail and green beans. I was in the hospital in June 2000 for 10 plus days. I passed bile from both ends for most of those days.
The Chief of the hospital told my husband and me that it was my gall bladder, but they couldn’t operate because my gall bladder wasn’t showing up as bad. I signed myself out because I decided I could go home and die. They weren’t doing anything for me there.
By the end of the next month, July, 2000, I went to a doctor’s appointment and my white blood count went to 20,000. The first time I’d been hospitalized in June, it was 15,000. I’d also like to say, the first time I went into the hospital, I’d driven myself there and had my father-in-law with me because it was his appointment day, not mine.
My doctor saw me in the waiting room and asked me what I was doing there and I told him I brought my father-in-law for his appointment. He said while you are here, let me check your white blood count, and that’s when it was 15,000.
My father-in-law was stranded. It was about an hour and a half drive from home so my husband had to come get my father-in-law. Then, on the July visit, I’d had an appointment with the eye doctor. I was out of my acid reflux medicine and went to my clinic to have it refilled.
My doc came out and said while you are here, let me check your white blood count. It was 20,000 and again, I drove myself to the hospital. My doctor informed me that there were no surgeons on duty at the VA hospital and he transported me to a civilian hospital (Rowan) there in Salisbury.
The doctor was waiting for me in the ER. He immediately sent me for an ultra sound and gave me a Demerol shot because by the time they finished the ultra sound which is not painful at all, it did leave me in pain because of the pushing of the instrument on my stomach around the gallbladder.
When the Dr. came in, he asked me if I had any family with me and I said no, but my husband was on his way because my VA doctor called him. The Dr. said it was my gall bladder and he said he was going to try to do my surgery the next day in the morning, but if he could get the crew together he wanted he’d do it at midnight. At the time he told me this, it was approx. 4:30 pm.
He kept coming in and asking me if my husband had gotten there yet. I said no. Finally at 5:45 pm, my husband arrived and my Dr. came in and asked if it was my husband. I introduced the Dr. to my husband, they shook hands and the Dr. said kiss her good-bye we are going in now to take her gall bladder out.
That was a far cry from midnight or early in the morning. He explained to my husband that it was a 45 min. surgery and I’d be in recovery about that long and if I did well, I could go home the next morning and he said if my gall bladder wasn’t inflamed he was going to use laser.
While on the operating table, both my lungs collapsed, my gall bladder was gangrene, and ruptured and dead. I also got pleurisy and pneumonia in both lungs. When the surgery was over, the Doctor told my husband I was not going to make it. I had to go on life support for a few days, then when I wasn’t doing much better, they went ahead and took me off. They never even bothered to put me in ICU.
By the grace of God, I lived and I got out of the hospital 8 days later. The Lord has been good to me. That was not my first miracle for myself. My first miracle happened years before, in 1976 I had a head-on collision going 60 mph.
I lived and had a broken neck, but didn’t know my neck had been broken until over 20 plus years later. I knew I was hurt at the time, but there was no technology to see a hairline fracture in 1976, like there is today. My head bobbed like the little dogs that people have in their cars.
I praise God for both those miracles and for the one I just got. And the most recent miracle came just a month ago. There were 2 nodules found on my left lung that the doctor thought was suspicious. The “C” word was never used. I went into the hospital on Aug 16, and had the surgery to remove those nodules that day. I had to go on life support because it was my lungs they were operating on and the ventilator helped me breathe until I could do it on my own.
I got through the surgery just fine and the nodules were benign, praise the Lord!!! I did alright for a couple of days off the life support. But, after that, I couldn’t breathe right and I had a fever of 104, they packed me in ice and I caught sepsis and also pneumonia and was put on life support again.
I saw angels in my room, 3 on the right side and 1 on the left side of my room, and I saw white angels guarding the gates of Heaven and I saw the most beautiful white light coming out of the top of the gates that these huge angels were guarding.
It was a gut wrenching experience because God allowed me to live and He also allowed me a glimpse of glory. It was so amazing that the first week I tried to talk about it, I couldn’t do it without crying and sobbing my heart out.
The doctors gave me a 50-50 chance. Because of the Lord and His love for me, His child, I lived. I love the Lord with all my heart and soul. I was in the hospital for about 16 days with 14 of them in ICU. I give all the glory to the Lord for loving me enough to let me live through all these things.
I also praise Him for allowing me to have angels to watch over me and protect me and I am so blessed to be able to see a glimpse of Heaven. God is truly wonderful and loving and kind. Most of all, He is real, very real and I was on lots of prayer lists and I feel like every prayer that went up for me is why I am here today recuperating.

It was May 28th 2005. I was having a normal great day. My life seemed great as I was getting ready to leave for vacation with my wife and son. Before we left I decided to take a quick ride on my new ATV my wife had bought for me. Waving goodbye I never expected my life would never be the same in only 15 min.
When I picked up my neighbor he asked if he could drive. As I sat on the back of my ATV, he ran into a concrete pole going 50 mph. I woke up 3 months later to somewhere I didn’t know or understand. I was told I was in a coma and I’d never walk or see again. Hitting the concrete pole crushed my skull and reconstructive surgery was needed.
Somewhere between hitting the pole and coming out of coma I spoke with my deceased father and what he told me will forever be in my heart. He said he loved me and so did God. He told me to back home and raise my son as he raised me. My surroundings were absolutely beautiful I didn’t want to leave but I did as I was told and opened my eyes to being in the hospital hooked up to machines keeping me breathing.
I didn’t know my wife or son for the next month but slowly I started to remember. Today I’m home…walking, talking, doing all the things the doctors said I’d never do. The power of God was more than any of them knew. Like in the bible when Job lost everything, he gave praise and glory and in return he received 10 fold what he started with. I too am receiving more than one man could expect. I’m a true life miracle and one man who knows the truth is God is real and I’m proof of it.

My parents threw a party, a little get-together with the family. I was four years old and just got done eating a wonderful plate of noodles. I wanted to go swimming in the pool now, and no on
I swear when I was down there, I saw a light and I thought I saw Jesus who told me he didn’t want me to come to heaven yet. My sister ran in the house and called the ambulance. Thankfully there was an ambulance worker down the road who wasn’t on duty but still came and saved my life.
If it wasn’t for her, I honestly don’t know where I would be right now. Thank you B.J. I’m scared to tell some of my best friends, because, I don’t think they’d believe me. I know I’m just a 14 year old, and us teenagers have weird things going on, but this is a true story. And I’m the one it happened to. Now I have tears coming out of my eyes.
I think people should pray every night. You never know when something bad is going to happen or something might happen to someone you care about. You never know what’s going to happen or even if your going to wake up the next morning, so live each day like its your last.

On July 17th 1990, my abusive 1st husband and I got into a bad argument. We both had our own Harley Davidson motorcycles. Mine was a show bike. I had won many trophies with this motorcycle that had a special art on it and the name “destiny” across the top of the gas tank. Well I left the house due to the fighting because I just couldn’t take the abuse anymore.
When I walked out the door the last words I spoke were “it can’t possibly get any worse.” I yelled that to my husband before I ran out the door. I got on my motorcycle and just drove.
Less than 2 miles from home now, 11:00pm at night, I was on a main street when a van pulled right out in front of me and just stopped. I tried to go around the back of the van, but it happened too fast. I remember on the other side of the van was a male crossing the street so I thought it was either me or the pedestrian. I decided it had to be me. I let the bike go. My head hit the concrete. I remember briefly being in an ambulance, then I was out again.
Then I remember briefly that I was in a hospital. I heard all the voices trying to save my life, but i let go. I saw the most beautiful light I had ever seen. I felt no pain, no loss. I felt a peace I had never ever felt in life.
Then I saw Jesus put out his hand to me. He was so beautiful. I put out my hand to him, but right before our hands could hold each other, He told me it was not time, that I must go back. I begged no….the next thing I remember was the ER doctor asking me my name. I was so upset knowing I was back in life form, that I refused to answer the doctor.
After that I remember a priest talking to me. I was told by my family I was in the ICU. I was out of it again. I did finally wake up, but still to this day I do not know the truth of how long I was in a coma. My family did tell me that the doctors had taken them into a special room alone and they were told I would not make it because my head and face injuries were too severe.
After a month or more, 8 hours of surgery, 7 wonderful doctors, and seven steel plates in my head and face I am still here, and ya know what? I even know some of the reasons now that I was sent back here. It’s all so clear to me now. I have been in law enforcement for a total of 19 years, and although my health is declining now, I have helped so many people within the time from the accident till now and will continue to.
Oh yeah, the man crossing the street, my rear foot peg injured his leg very badly, but he was O.K. And the white van that caused all of this left the scene….never to be found. I don’t know how he lives with himself to be honest. But ya know what, I think of how other people out their have it so much worse than me, and that keeps me going.
It took exactly 1 year for me too heal enough to go out anywhere. Hhaving the strenth to pull through the accident gave me the courage to leave my abusive husband. I swore to always be alone. I just couldn’t trust men ever again. Well after 15 years of being alone I met the most wonderful man in the world. Three months later we were engaged, then married on July 15th,2005.
I still am learning (every day of my life a little more) just why Jesus sent me back here. The ironic part is, my husband and I met only because of the tragedies that occured on 9-11, when we recieved our marriage certificate after being stamped by the county, the time it shows it was stamped is 9:11, we both took that as a sign, but ya know what? My greatest sign of all was the night I died. It completely changed my entire life. I wish I could shout to the world: ” if you just love God enough and do not hurt other people, ever lasting peace will be yours for eternity.”
