Healing Miracles Stories

“I told everybody God wasn’t going to let my daddy die!”

by on Jun.14, 2011, under Healing Miracles Stories, Power of Prayer Miracle Stories

On the morning of April 27th, 2003 my wife got up to go to work at about 5:00 am. She turned to look over at me because she thought I was “breathing funny.” Upon closer inspection I was what the doctors call aspirating; I was unconscious, sweating profusely and unresponsive. My wife called 911 and three emergency vehicles and two police cars were at our house in a matter of minutes.

Now remember, I had my boys 4, 11, and 14 sound asleep until the sirens and lights woke them. That was pretty traumatic and something they will NEVER forget! My wife hustled the youngest one into our oldest sons bedroom.

The firefighters/medics had a hard time negotiating my 6’5″ 240 lb. body out of the house on the gurney. It must have been quite a spectacle for the neighbors, as they had to carry me out the sliding glass door and around the house!

I was taken to our local hospital where the doctors stabilized me and their initial diagnoses was that I had suffered a heart attack. Because I was still unconscious I was then transferred to another hospital that was more suited to this type of trauma, and after about 4 hours at St Joseph’s in Tacoma, my wife was told that I had suffered a “septic shock and multi-system organ failure with acute renal and respiratory failure.”

I had something like 139,000 red blood count. My pulse was 173/130 and so on; I was on complete life support and in a coma! It was REALLY ugly! I was “intubated” (tubes in my nose and throat down in to my lungs) and lay comatose in the hospital bed for four straight days without any type of response or encouraging sign. Doctors were asking every question you could imagine; they even had considered it being a case of SARS, and asked if I had been out of the country.

The worst part was when the police started questioning my wife! They were asking her, and some of our friends and family members “if we were having marriage problems?” They asked about any “problems with our relationship?” The kinds of questions that police ask when they suspect foul play, but definitely something that a grieving wife does not need to hear. I’m sure you know what I mean!

Anyway my parents flew back from Mexico, where they spend seven months out of the year, to be at my bedside. That evening the doctors took them and my wife outside my hospital room and said that the situation was “very bleak” and they had no idea was caused this episode. All my vital organs were full of infection and the doctors finally asked the inevitable–if I had any kind of a living will. They also asked if I was an organ donor. Since I was “clinically dead,” they asked if I had ever left any instructions about how long I would want to continue to be kept alive artificially on life support, or anything of that sort.

Needless to say that totally freaked out my wife and parents!!! Not to mention my boys, who were continually asking how their daddy was doing. My little four year old, Jady, was leading his preschool class in prayer because “he needed his daddy more than God did right now.”

During that week my family, fellow church members, and friends came to my bedside. My skin was yellow from jaundice because my liver was not functioning. My eyes were rolled back so that all you could see was the “whites,” or should I say “yellows” of my eyes.

That evening my Senior Pastor and Youth Pastor, with whom I had worked with for five years, prayed over me until visiting hours were over. The consensus was that everyone felt like they were saying their good-byes. After everyone had left, my second cousin came in, for the first time, right at the end of visiting hours, around 10:00 PM. I remember waking up, not having any idea where I was, or why I was there strapped to a bed with tubes and hospital machinery everywhere. There was my cousin and he was sitting next to my bed praying.

Now remember, I had tubes in EVERY orifice of my body, so I could not communicate at all. I had also been restrained to the bed because, according to the staff, I kept trying to pull the IV and other tubes out of my body during muscle spasms, and to top it off I had no idea why or where I was! So my cousin lifts up his head and I’m staring at him.

I will never, in a million years forget the look on his face…it was like he had seen a ghost! His eyes welled up with tears and he said “Jeff…Do you know who I am?” I tried nodding my head and tried SO hard to talk, but couldn’t. He asked me if I knew what happened…I shook my head no. He called the nurses in and proceeded to tell me this awesome story about how I was in a coma for almost five days.

Within hours almost my whole family was at my bedside and even though I couldn’t talk, everyone was weeping and hugging me. Before I knew it I was surrounded by most of the special people in my life. The most precious thing I remember was my four year old saying…”I told everybody God wasn’t going to let my daddy die!” His little hand grabbed my finger and I looked into that little face…It’s a feeling that can’t be put into words, but it’s an experience that has changed the whole focus of my life.

The doctors still can’t explain my sudden illness nor do they know what caused it. By the doctors admission it was nothing less than a miracle! The next day the tubes were removed from my nose and throat and five days later I was released from the hospital.

So…. believe it or not…that is still the short version. Even now I’m still recuperating…I had a lot of degenerative muscle damage and a subsequent stroke on top on that, so though I’ve got plenty of healing still to do…I’m just glad that God gave me a second chance.

I’m still waiting for some sort of “epiphany” or “sign” as to why my life was spared, but that has yet to come. I still get extremely emotional when I’m lying down and my little four year old Jady” comes over and puts his ear to my chest to “make sure Daddy’s heart is working good.”

I think this is just a glimpse of my story…there was obviously so much more going on behind the scenes. Because I was comatose I have most of my information from my wife and family. I remember when I was coherent enough to realize what had happened, I read my medical report and couldn’t believe all that had happened to me.

There is one thing that I distinctly remember while I was in my coma: I remember hearing prayers, continuous prayers in my subconscious (I later learned that my story had literally been emailed worldwide and I was being prayed for fervently). I believe this is why I’m alive.

Never underestimate the power of prayer!

Believe in miracles, and hold your children and loved ones a little closer.

Hug more often and remember that you can NEVER say, “I love you” too much.

I’m grateful to be alive to tell this story and I give all the glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

I Let God Have Total Control

by on Feb.12, 2011, under Healing Miracles Stories, Near Death Miracle Stories, Power of Prayer Miracle Stories

On may 28, 2008, my life changed. I became mysteriously ill. My whole body was swollen, blurred vision with swollen shut eyes to the point I couldn’t see, fluid all over my body. I was at two hospitals. In one of them, the medical workers made several mistakes with my care also causing a severe injury to my right arm and hand.

Their were several physicians and specialists working hard to diagnose my condition. All kinds of test, ultrasounds, scans, x-rays, but they couldn’t figure it out. From may 28, 2008 to august 12, 2008 was how long I stayed in the hospital. I was really ill and sick to the point where I didn’t think I was going to make it. I’m tearing up as I type because it was an emotional roller coaster but a spiritual journey.
Although everyone was puzzled about my condition, even me, I knew that the one thing for sure was that God, my Lord and savior was in control of my life. As I laid there in that hospital bed day and night, I prayed, meditated and spoke to God reflecting on my life, trials and tribulations.

I believe I had an out of body experience with a peaceful bright light pure moment. I made up in my mind that I was going to let go and let God! I started making peace and preparation mentally to God that if it was my time to go in his plan, I will trust him.

That being said, I knew my life had purpose and that he wasn’t through with me yet. When I let God have total control, I started to make progress and improve. Giving God high praise for His grace and mercy for me. All the prayers from family, friends the medical staff and complete strangers helped throughout this ordeal.

I don’t know why I suddenly became so ill that year, and doctors not giving me a diagnosis, but I trust God’s plan because I never would have made it without him and his son Jesus! There’s a saying that “God works in mysterious ways and he’s a miracle worker”. I know because I’m a living testimonial miracle, thank you God, thank you Jesus!

I just wanted to tell my story and testify to others to have faith in God’s plan! Thank you for listening!

      The Power of Many Prayers

by on Feb.08, 2011, under Healing Miracles Stories, Power of Prayer Miracle Stories

When I closed my eyes that evening I didn’t know I would spend most of that month fighting for my life. The story I want to share is the power of a prayer or maybe in my case the power of a hundred prayers. It was not until 22 days later that I was told the whole story by my husband, family and medical personnel. Here is the story that has truly been called a miracle by the nurses and doctors.

It was Tuesday morning, and I was not in the best of condition. I was told that I would be placed on a respirator because it was inevitable that it would be necessary. At 8am I was sedated. The doctors and nurses struggled to place the breathing tube down my throat. They could not get the tube down my throat.

They proceeded to try my nose and still had trouble but eventually managed to break through and successfully place the tube inside my lungs. My husband remembered the sound of the respirator turning on and all the beeps and thumping of the vent which now controlled my breathing.

It was now Wednesday and the doctors approached my husband to inform them that they feel ARDS was affecting my lungs and there was a 80% mortality rate. My lungs were hardening and was not easily excepting the life saving oxygen. I was still struggling to fight this infection that had started to shut my organs down. The antibiotics were not helping and my system went septic.

My lungs filled with fluid and my body swelled to 50 extra pounds of fluid. My eyes turned yellow. I was taken for exploratory surgery to rule out gallbladder concerns. I was poked and a sample of my bone marrow was also taken to be tested for cancer.

My husband and coworkers along with some people I really did not know but who knew of me stopped in. Some asked my husband if they could say a prayer over me, others informed him they placed my name in their church prayer group to pray for me. Even some came and grabbed my husband’s hand and said a prayer. Cards with co workers names arrived as each mentioned how they will pray for me.

It was Friday that my husband made a decision to send me to a larger hospital with better ability to get lab results back and a hospital with more specialist available to me. The doctors agreed and soon the calls went out. Suddenly I started to take another turn for the worse.

My liver was shutting down, my spleen was enlarged, and last my kidneys were no longer functioning correctly. A nurse rushed in and explained to my husband that, my condition was far more serious and they would do everything in their power to keep me alive throughout the night. As they rushed platelets of blood in one after another my husband was told to drive to U of L hospital. Life flight was going to jet me to this hospital. I was rushed to my room and was being monitored throughout the night.

I am not sure what came over me, other than a miracle. It was just a short 10 days when I woke up. My body lost 40 pounds of fluid, my tube feeding removed, my eyes opened, and my throat sore from the vent tubes. My body, so weak, unable to walk, talk, or use my arms or fingers.

The doctors and nurse all stated that I was a miracle. No one really expected me to live. I have to believe, it was the prayers of so many friends, family and co workers, and even people who I didn’t even know.

Miracle Match – Mother and Adopted Son

by on Jan.29, 2011, under Divine Intervention, Healing Miracles Stories, Organ Transplant Miracle Stories, VIDEOS

I’m originally from is El Salvador. At the age of 5 months, on May 8, 1980, I was adopted by two loving parents from the United States. During the 5 months that I was in El Salvador, the country was going through its own Civil War. The orphanage that I was at didn’t have the necessities an infant needs to be properly taken care of. Therefore, my parents were sending money down to them so I could get that care.

Unfortunately, the money was being used towards weapons for underground criminals. When my parents arrived to take me to my new home, I was very malnourished. I was very sick with various illnesses throughout my childhood because of this. My Mom was taking me to doctors’ appointments because of things varying from ear infections to strep throat. I even needed to be hospitalized for asthma. Not much was known about asthma back then, so many doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. My Mom would spend the day at the hospital with me and my Dad would come to the hospital at night. Every night they would sit in my hospital room while I slept.

In 1985, my Mom found out that she was suffering from diabetes and needed to be on insulin. Twenty-four years later, she found out that her kidneys were failing due to the aforementioned reason. She needed a kidney transplant.

Immediately, I told my Dad that I would be willing to donate my kidney to her. My parents, being the loving parents that they are, didn’t want me to go through a procedure like that. Blood relatives offered, but due to their own medical complications, they were unable to do so.

I kept on pursuing to be tested in order to find out if I would be an organ and tissue match for my Mom. From July of 2009 to September of 2009, my Mom and I were going through many tests to see if this would be the case. In October of 2009, we as a family learned that my Mom and I were a perfect tissue and organ match.

On Monday, October 12, 2009, we had the surgery. It was a complete success! The doctor said the surgery went very well and there were no complications! It is now over a year later, and the kidney is working very well!

I like to tell everyone this story, not because I want to sound like a hero,(I believe God did all the work. I just volunteered) but because I want people out in the world to know that miracles do happen!

Around the time that this was happening, my Dad emailed our local news station (without my Mom’s or my own knowledge at first). The station interviewed us on the miracle. You can view the video of the broadcast below:

I hope everyone enjoys this miracle, just as much as I enjoyed doing this for my Mom!

            I Am My Brother’s Keeper

by on Jan.27, 2010, under Healing Miracles Stories, Power of Prayer Miracle Stories, Relationship Miracle Stories

This is a true story that happened to my Phillipino friend, R. A., who lives in Saudi Arabia. I am forwarding his story with his permission. It is so beautiful that I promised him to share it. Thank you and God Bless you! He apologizes for his grammar and typos. I posted it in its raw beauty.

25th December 2007, my brother Jojo from Iraq was calling me but I wasn’t able to answer it due to our customers. At 4pm that day I was calling him back but unfortunately the cellphone didn’t work. So I worried because no communication for 1 week.J

January 02,2008 I received a message from the Philippines and they said that my brother got hospitalized and he had received major operation due to intestinal glands, liver and some parts of organs in his stomach. Due to lack of facilities in Iraq, the ambulance took him off to Aljahra hospital in Kuwait last January 01,2008 at around 5pm.

So when I heard about what’s happening with my brother, I used to call my family in Philippines to find out if he was O.K. But I didn’t now because I didn’t want to worry my family, especially my mother, and cause them to think too much about the situation of my brother in hospital.

I continuously called the nurses and the assigned doctor in his ICU, but they just said O.K., O.K. Everyone just said O.K. till 15th of January, 2008, when the doctor told me honestly that my brother was in coma and his condition was so serious that he could die at anytime.

I just cried silently over the phone and I whispered to God to please help him and forgive and just take me first before my brother. Any bad news I received from hospital about my brother, I never told my family back home because I want them to think that my brother was in good condition and fully recovered and that at anytime he might go back home.

But to be honest he was still unconscious. January 20,2008 I was calling to the hospital and the nurse told me that they needed more blood and they asked me to provide blood. I asked them how I could do that since I was in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. So I called them again and again to get a blood donor from a Filipino or ask the blood bank to put it for my brother. Believe me Mercy I couldn’t sleep and work properly because of thinking so much about my brother.

I kept praying, praying and praying. Then again I called them up January 22,2008. The nurse in ICU section was talking to me and she knew me already as the brother of their patient..I ask her softly again asking about the condition of my brother.. She said oh thank God because we provided blood for your brother. No need to worry for him.

Ahhh .. I was in deep breathe .. and oh God thank you. You answered our prayers.

January 25,2008 again I called and they requested for me to come to Kuwait because they needed me to sign the papers because they were going to open the throat and to put a tube in so he could breathe. When I heard this, I felt something like a thousands tons of steel.

I told them .. please do something that you don’t need to put hole in his throat. But they said just try to come immediately if you can. I told them in loud voice I can’t go there and my boss is out of Saudi Arabia and he’s the only one can give me permission to go there!

Then they talked softly and said, please…if you want to see your brother alive come and help him for what we ask (signature ). I just kept praying and I told all my customers, relatives and family and all passersby here in Jeddah that I need your help. Please…I’m not asking you to give material things. What I need is a PRAYER for my brother to recover.

Also I e-mailed Arabs news paper (Saudi leading news paper) in Philippines and the TFC channel worldwide (the filipino channel)to let everyone know that I have a brother in the Al Jarha hospital in Kuwait. I don’t ask material things. What I need is only the presence of the people who read the news about my brother to give him a big support.

Thanks to God, it worked. Now they no longer needed me to come to sign on the paper because there was no longer the need to open his throat. But I told my self I have to go with him and give him a big support because I visualized him alone in room and still unconscious. It was very hard for him.. And still I did not say anything bad to my family back home.

February 01, 2008 I arranged by myself all the documents to go to Kuwait to take care of my brother for 3 weeks because my boss gave me only three weeks vacation. I really don’t care about the expenses. What mattered most was to see him and give him a big support. I went to Kuwait embassy here in Jeddah but they refuse to give me a visa. I searched for the email address of my brother’s employer and thank God I found it and immediately emailed them for visa. Believe me mercy within 3 hours I received a visa.

February 06,2008 at 4pm, I traveling by SAPTCO bus Jeddah to Dammam for 21 hours in the middle of the dessert. But my confidence and determination and positive thinking and FAITH in GOD carried me through. I reached Damman terminal and the customs where they asked me for my original visa. I explain that I obtained my visa through the email. Then he looked at me and he said, O.K., you may go. You look like you are a good man.. Oh thank you God bless you..I immediately went to another bus going to Kuwait. Again it took 6 hours traveling. When we reached Saudi Arabia and Kuwait border, I was stopped by the two customs officials because my visa was not original. I believe they held me about two days because the one who had signed my visa had gone to Lebanon at that time..

Oh my God, I said to myself.. we are in the middle of the dessert and there’s no coffee shop and rest. I was sitting there when a Pakistani family came to me and ask me where was I going. I told them I wanted to visit my brother and he was in Aljara hospital ..they said oh sorry to hear that. But what are you going to eat? I told them as long as there’s water it’s O.K. for me. I thought they had left for Kuwait, but they came back after 15 minutes and gave a bag of food. What a kind-hearted family.. I told them thanks a lot.

Then February 9, a Syrian couple picked me up and gave me a ride to Kuwait City. I didn’t really know the place but I just kept asking and asking till I finally reached Aljahra hospital at exactly 9pm. My brother had just been transferred to ward section and that day he just came conscious. I saw that he was very thin and dehydrated. As I approached him slowly and he just opened his eyes and looked at ceiling.

I spoke loudly and asked him three times, do you know me brother? He looked at me about 10 minutes then he cried and cried without sounds because there was something on his mouth. What did I tell you! I told you I would come to you to take of you, to support you and we really love you. Don’t cry out loud because I am your brother that will give you big support. And he was so happy when I told him those words.

What I had read from the books I shared with him. Giving him daily massage therapy, helping him to eat, to walk, to talk again, to smile. And I told him we are guided by ALMIGHTY God, He’s the reason you’re back and recovered.

I prayed in front of him night and day, bringing him fresh fruits, and giving him hot soup, etc. to get back his natural color and freshness of his skin. Before I left, they told me that everything’s going to be O.K. with you brother and that time I called my family back home and for the first time since he was in serious condition, they heard my brother’s voice.

I was so happy for my brother and for my self because what I gave to him is from everyone, not only from me. I gave thanks to all the nurses and the doctor who helped my big brother and also the janitors and all the staff I saw in hospital. I bought new a cellphone for my brother and taught him again how to use it.

I left Kuwait on February 26,2008. I gave thanks to God because of HIM my mission had succeeded. On April 04, 2008 I sent my brother back to Philippines and all my love ones out there were so happy and grateful to me. Now my brother lives happily with his family and my mom, too.

Hope you understand it and I am so glad that I share this with you.. First time in my life to write like this because it is my own experienced. I called it about “LOVE and CARING”E. God bless us… I am always inspired by the love and grace of some rare people in this world. They truly angels in human form!

                TAKING CONTROL

by on Jan.09, 2010, under Children Miracle Stories, Divine Intervention, Healing Miracles Stories, Personal Transformation Miracle Stories

Approximately 10 years ago, on a freezing July night, the cold, hard, truth hit me like a freight train. NO ONE WAS COMING TO MY RESCUE.

On our bedroom floor, my wife was giving birth to our son. He’d come so quickly that we had just called the hospital to tell them we were on our way. But we never made it out of the house.

The complication was he was breech; and when he had come out to his shoulders, the contractions stopped and he stopped coming. My wife and I stayed calm, but for all my trying I just could not get his head out.  While this was happening my sister had called an ambulance, but we were stuck in this position for about 15 minutes before they arrived and were able to fully deliver him.

What I didn’t realize was that the umbilical cord was obstructed and our baby was suffering from asphyxiation.  When he was finally born our boy was blue and his heart rate was 40 beats per minute when it should have been 140 beats per minute.  As the paramedics worked on our son, pumping oxygen into his lungs, with a hand pump, I went outside to talk to God.

I’d been studying faith at a local church for a while, and had achieved some small successes. One of the scriptures that has always impressed on me the most was Mark 11:24 “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be though removed and be though cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass, He shall have whatsoever he says.”

This scripture told me I had to take responsibility in the situation, and not wait for something to happen, but make something happen. I felt strength flow through me as I reminded God what this scripture said. I told God that I was not going to ask for anything but that I was going to take control of the situation. I had a strong belief that parents are supposed to protect their children, not just naturally but spiritually as well.

I also could not accept the idea that a child would be born just to die ten minutes later. After my conversation with God I felt fearless and determined. When I went back into the house the main paramedic pulled me aside and asked me if he could have a word with me. With a grim look on his face and.”   It’s amazing how quickly people will change their mind and come into agreement with you when you are clear and absolute about something.

Upon entering the hospital I repeated with conviction “No he’s going to make it, He’s gonna be just fine,” to any one that spoke to me. As I stood back and watched Doctors and Nurses buzzing around my son in a hive of activity, things became surreal. A smiling woman in a white coat approached, “You know when they called in, I thought they’d be bringing in a dead baby, but it’s a miracle, they’ve done a great job, he’s looking good.”

Of course our baby did survive. But the next day he was placed in intensive care. At a meeting with the head of intensive care, the Doctor explained to us that our baby was “fitting” and this was most likely because he would have suffered brain damage and organ damage due to the lack of oxygen he received during birth. At this point, once again I reassured the Doctor, “No, don’t worry, he’s going to be just fine.”

Because of what we had just been through, I thought there’s no way I’m going to start backing off now. About this time we were interviewed by the hospital psychologist, to see how we were handling the fact our baby would be severely handicapped. After the meeting my wife sneaked a peek at the psychologist’s clipboard and notes. Among other things, my wife noticed the statement “This couple is not prepared for failure.” It was not written as a positive statement, but I found it incredibly empowering.

The ward was divided into ten sections. Section one for the sickest babies and our son was in this section. Some babies are in section one for months and some never get well. However, within two days our son was in section three and in three days he was in section nine. Within another three days we were taking him home in absolutely perfect condition.

Since that time I have pushed myself to learn as much as possible about this incredible power that saved my son’s life. What I have learned I have applied to many different areas of my life. I have used this power to transform my near bankrupt, failing business into a thriving prosperous company that has allowed me an income that has totally changed my lifestyle.

I have seen this power make cancer and arthritis completely disappear from people’s bodies. I have seen it transform children with learning difficulties and sleeping problems into peaceful intelligent, happy kids.

I have seen it do many incredible, wonderful things in relationships, and every area of life. I believe this power controls the world, and I believe it exists for the benefit of mankind. I truly believe it’s the answer to every obstacle we face.“And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” John 8:32 Get Excited! It’s Time to Overcome!  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4

Prayer to St. Jude The Patron Of Desperate Situations

by on Jan.06, 2010, under Christian Miracles, Healing Miracles Stories, Power of Prayer Miracle Stories

Praying is a huge part of my life. It seems that every time I pray I feel that God is listening very careful to me.

Last year, on the month of July, I was set to go to Singapore for an international program. Unfortunately, two days before my trip I got sick. Being sick at that time was a REALLY BAD THING because it was when the influenza virus H1n1 struck out.

So I did every thing. I got blood tests, drank my medicine and the like. I was desperate. I didn’t want to miss this trip. I then resorted to praying to St. Jude, the patron of desperate situations. I prayed his novena.

And you know what, an amazing thing happened while I was praying. I could feel my body cool down and the sickness going away. As if I was automatically healing. I thought that the fever would come back but it didn’t. I was in good health. My feelings at that time were so overwhelming.

I actually experienced a real miracle. Although some might say that I was bound to get well anyway, I still believe that my prayer and faith saved me.

Zero to Hero – Personal Transformation

by on Dec.14, 2009, under Healing Miracles Stories, Hearing God's Voice, Meditation, Personal Transformation Miracle Stories

I would like to share my miraculous journey that I had with various masters. I am 45 yrs old residing in the garden city, Bangalore INDIA for the last 38 years. I am a civil engineer and a interior decorator. I was born in a village near Mandya about 100 kilometers from Bangalore. I was not so healthy in childhood, as I had severe respiratory problems. I suffered a lot up to the age of 23. I studied in a local language kannada medium and was very mediocre in my studies, never even touched even a decent 2nd class.

My father was an Engineer working for the Indian government and my mother a house wife. Most of my family and relatives had written me off and branded me as sick and dull. As we, are basically farmers and landholders, most of the people thought I’ll be a Drop-out and join farming with my uncles. My elder sister and younger brother were excellent in their studies. Everybody compared me with them. All this made me more of an introvert and I developed an inferiority complex.

My father was transferred to Bangalore when I was 7 years old and that made my health worse. I could not cope with city students as they were more polished and conversed so fluently in English. I used to get severe asthma attacks and I was always on medicine. Life went on like this until I entered SSC somehow by grace of the Almighty.

During these suffering years I started conversing with the Almighty and used to share my feelings. Some times I used to cry, wondering why this is happening to me. One day I was sitting in my room when I heard a voice from inside: “Prem, you can bring change in life, you have the power.”

I slowly started getting confidence and become more studious. Believe it or not I got 1st class in SSC exams. This was the 1st miracle that I experienced in my life.

My first experience with spirituality was when I was 16 yrs old. Mahashri Mahesh Yogi’s students came to school and taught my sister T.M (Transcendental Meditation). She taught me TM. and I was doing the meditation mechanically 10 minutes daily for a year or so. Our school was very near to Ramakrishna ashram where I used to go and meditate on a regular basis.

My health still was not so good at that time. I used to have breathing problems. The whole night I would be counting my breaths and waiting for the morning to come. I had become weak. The mental and Physical suffering was always there throughout my engineering graduation.

In 1986 I had a major vehicle accident in which my leg was fractured very badly. I was bed ridden for 6 long months. This was the Turning Point of my life. I read many books; Bhagavatgita, Buddha’s concept of Nirvana, Dale Carnegie’s “How To Win Friends and Influence People”, Napolean Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”, Books of Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi’s “My Experiments with Truth’.Paul Coehelo’s “THE ALCHEMIST” and many others.

Then I read about the incident when Gandhi was thrown off a running train to the railway platform. Sitting on the platform he made a pledge to himself that he is going to fight this discrimination on the basis of color of the skin. A VISION was formed in him and I understand this was the starting point of the fall of the British Empire in India.

This particular incident in Gandhi’s life changed my life. I decided enough is enough! I will bring transformation in my life. I used to meditate throughout the night since I was unable to sleep because of pain and breathing trouble. After I started walking, miracles started happening in my life, I was meeting right people at the right time. My intuition was working for me.

Though my health was not completely good, I understood myself and I was seeking guidance from within. I decided to be on the spiritual path rest of life. Miraculous thinking was working for me.

I slowly started working on weaknesses and converting them into strengths. I studied MBA in the evening college and I finished it successfully. I joined MILT – A Leadership, Public speaking, Human relations course. I used to read a lot those days. I was recognized wherever I went. My English was becoming better and better.

Then I studied M.S. in Psychotherapy and Counseling in an open university. I got 1st class in that course. This was the biggest miracle I’d experienced. I could not imagine one day I would be so qualified to talk even to scholars and intellectuals.

In the year 1988 I met management Guru Swamy Sukhabodhananda who molded me to become an inner winner and an outer winner. In 1989 I was initiated under OSHO commune, my sanyas name given was Swamy Anand Prem ( Swami means you are committed be on the spiritual path) and practiced many types of meditations such as Dynamic meditation, Trataka, Mystic rose, Sufi, Dancing meditation, Tantra, Kundalini, Vipasana (Anaapanasati), Gibrish, Nadabramha, Nataraja meditation, Yoga nidra , Tea meditation… etc.

These Spiritual interests made me go to visit various ashrams like Swamy Muktananda ( Ganesh puri ), Swamy Ramdas ( Kasargod, Kerala ), Aurobindo( Pondicherry ) , Ramana Maharshi (Thiruvannamalai), Shirdi Sai , Sathya sai (Puttaparthy), EGYPT etc .

I became more healthy, very confident and dynamic. I was doing well in my profession and also socially very active. I was married in 1995 to Bharathi Prem, an architect , a lovely human being who supported all my crazy adventures of self discovery. Now I help others by counseling and motivating them. I am part of others’ miracles now.

I have always listened to the voice from inside. Every minute is full of miracles!
